Jason K. Wynne Named Lawrence Academy Head of School
Dear Friends of Lawrence Academy:
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is our great pleasure to announce that on November 17, 2016, the Lawrence Academy Board of Trustees appointed Jason K. Wynne as the new Head of School, effective January 1, 2017. The Board’s unanimous decision to select Jason followed the unanimous recommendation of the Search Committee, which cited a near perfect match of the committee’s search criteria with the skills and educational background that Jason brings to the school.
Jason currently serves Lawrence Academy as a member of the faculty and coaching staff and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new posting, including previous time as a successful Head of School. As Head of School he strengthened that school’s curriculum, evaluated and mentored his faculty, addressed deficiencies in enrollment strategies, and bolstered the school’s finances.
Jason is a leader with a vision. Indeed, Jason is dedicated to maintaining and strengthening Lawrence Academy’s position as THE educational option in the region. He believes that through the strengthening of a triangle of learning, consisting of school, student, and family, the scholastic enthusiasm of the students and faculty at Lawrence Academy will continue to flourish. Jason is dedicated to helping students grow intellectually, while also developing the social skills and values needed in an ever-evolving world.
Jason is married to Sandy, and both of their sons, Austin and Brady, attend Lawrence Academy. The family resides in Bear Grass.
This appointment concludes a ten-month national search. A seven-member Search Committee comprised of current Board members, parents, and faculty worked exhaustively to identify and recommend the most qualified applicant. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to thank everyone who worked so tirelessly in helping us complete this most important responsibility. Please join us in welcoming Jason as the Head-Elect of Lawrence Academy.
Chairman, Board of Trustees
