Swansboro Man Faces Several Charges

On Wednesday October 4, 2017 Beaufort County Deputies responded to Croatan Street in Washington after a citizen reported someone had just stolen her vehicle from her driveway. While responding Deputies spotted a vehicle matching the stolen vehicles description traveling south on Hwy 17 towards Chocowinity and attempted to stop it. The driver Thomas Michael Watson age 36, of Swansboro initially refused to stop for the blue lights and siren. He eventually stopped the vehicle and fled on foot but was captured minutes later.

Deputies identified Watson and learned he was wanted by the State for a Parole Violation. Watson who was also found in possession of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia was charged by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office with Felony Fleeing to Elude Arrest, Felony B & E of a Motor Vehicle, Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Driving While Impaired and Injury to Personal Property. He was ordered held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $70,000.00 bond. He was additionally ordered held without bond on his Parole Violation.
