On May 8, 2012 at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny of a ring that had already occurred at a residence on Highway 306 South in Aurora, NC. Deputies took a report and began an investigation and conducted interviews. The Sheriff’s Office recovered the stolen ring at a pawn shop in Washington. The victim obtained a warrant for Misdemeanor Larceny against Samuel Brian Davis, age 44, of Peele Road in Aurora, NC. On May 9, 2012, Davis was served with the warrant and released on an $800.00 unsecured bond. As a result of the Sheriff’s Office investigation, Investigator Jim Adams applied for and obtained a warrant charging Davis with one count of Obtaining Property by False Pretense for selling stolen property. Davis turned himself in May 14, 2012 and was taken before Magistrate Jasper Mills. Davis was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $1,000.00 secured bond.
