On June 11, 2012 at approximately 11:30 am, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of larceny of cash by an employee at a convenience store on Highway 264 East in Washington. Deputies responded to the store, took a report, and began an investigation. As a result of information gathered during the investigation, Investigator Jim Adams
applied for and obtained a warrant charging Melissa Baker Harris, age 44, of Tyler Street in Washington, NC with Larceny by an Employee. On August 2, 2012, Harris turned herself in at the Magistrate’s Office and was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $2,500.00 secured bond set by Magistrate Donald Sadler.
