posted 06/28/2018 by TriCounty Broadband

TriCounty Telephone Foundation awards two $1,000 scholarships each year. At a recent board meeting, Alexis Carowan and Caleb Fulford were named recipients of the scholarships. Applications were received from several area high school students.

Carowan, a graduate of Pungo Christian Academy, is the daughter of Shanna and Stacy Carowan. She will be attending Pitt Community College in the fall, pursuing an Associates Degree in Health Science for X-ray tech and then continue her education to become a Radiologist. Carowan is served by TriCounty Broadband in the Pike Road exchange. Fulford is the son of Robin and Dean Fulford and is a graduate of Fulford Christian Academy. He will be attending Beaufort County Community College in the fall for an Associates Degree after which he plans to attend East Carolina University pursuing a Nursing degree. His ultimate goal is to become a nurse anesthetist. Fulford resides in the TriCounty Broadband Sidney exchange.

The scholarships, drawn at random, are awarded each year and provide $1,000 per year for up to four years to help finance area students’ educations. Applicants must be graduating seniors permanently residing in a TriCounty Broadband customer’s household. Scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.25 grade point average.
