Shaun Taquan Adams Charged with Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resist, Delay, Obstruct a Public Officer

On July 25, 2012, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit along with Deputies in the Patrol Division arrested Shaun Taquan Adams, age 24, of 110 Emily Court in Chocowinity. Adams’ arrest stemmed from members of the Drug Unit investigating drug complaints in the Chocowinity area. The investigation lead to Adams’ residence located at 110 Emily Court Chocowinity. Adams fled out of the back door upon arrival. Investigators
followed Adams and Adams was taken into custody in the Super 8 Hotel parking lot off of Hwy
17 south by members of the Sheriff’s Office patrol division.  Adams had several outstanding arrest warrants out of Carteret, Beaufort and Pitt Counties.
A search of Adams’ residence resulted in the seizure of a quantity of marijuana, digital scales containing marijuana residue and drug packaging material. Adams was arrested and charged with Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resist, Delay, Obstruct a Public Officer. Adams was also served with a warrant for Breaking and Entering and Injury to Personal Property from Carteret County and a warrant for a Probation Violation in Beaufort County. Adams was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $21,000 secured bond.
