Marco Antonio Mendez-Roblero Charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Statutory Sex Offense

On April 8, 2012 at approximately 12:03 am, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Sex Offense that occurred at a residence on Gage Lane in Washington, NC.  The caller reported the suspect ran fom the victim’s residence wearing nothing but a T-shirt. The Sheriff’s Office responded to the area and attempted to locate the suspect.  An investigation was initiated and evidence was collected.
At 10:33 am, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious male in the woods on Highway 264 near the Beaufort County Animal Shelter.  Responding Deputies located and detained the suspicious male, who was wearing a T-shirt and a trash bag on the lower portion of his body.  The male was identified as the suspect from the sex offense. As a result, Investigator Wesley Waters applied for and obtained a warrant charging Marco Antonio Mendez-Roblero, age 20, of Edwards Mobile Home Park in Greenville with one(1) count of Felony Breaking and Entering and one(1) count of Statutory Sex Offense Against A Person Who is 13, 14, or 15, Years Old By A Defendant Who is More Than Four
But Less Than Six Years Older Than The Victim.  Mendez was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $20,000 secured bond set by Magistrate Donald Sadler.
