On May 13, 2012 at approximately 2:15 p.m., Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in progress at a residence on Whichards Beach Road in Chocowinity, NC.  When Deputies arrived, the suspect had fled the scene.  Deputies found an adult female victim with multiple lacerations to her face and a juvenile female
with a swollen area on her forehead.  The victims were transported to Beaufort Hospital, treated for their injuries, and later released.The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted
interviews.  As a result, Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office applied for and obtained warrants charging Mitchell Alanda StClair Jr., age 37, of Sharon Court in Washington, NC with Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Second Degree Kidnapping, Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury, Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Assault on a Child Under 12, Assault by Pointing a Gun, Assault With a Deadly Weapon with a Minor Present, and Communicating Threats. 
StClair is still at large and is considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office at (252)946-7111 or Beaufort County Crime Stoppers at (252)974-6400.  Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to his arrest.  Callers do not have to give their name to receive a reward.
