Two Suspects Face Assault Charges
On November 15, 2017 at about 6:00 PM Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an assault on the Hodges Road in Chocowinity NC. Upon arrival Deputies found the victim, a 51 yr. old Chocowinity resident in need of medical attention. Emergency Medical personnel also responded to treat the victim.
After taking statements from the victim and a witness, Deputies learned the victim was assaulted with an undetermined weapon. The assault stemmed from words the victim had with a family member of the 2 suspects sometime last week. The victim told Deputies after he was knocked to the ground by one of the suspects, he was kicked by the other while on the ground.
As a result of their investigation Beaufort County Deputies charged, John Aaron Matthew Jenkins, age 22 of Grimesland with one count each of Felony Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Felony Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. The second suspect, John Curtis Jenkins Jr, age 29, of Chocowinity, was charged with one count of Felony Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury.
Both suspects were served with the arrest warrants on November 16, 2017. John Aaron Matthew Jenkins was released on a $20,000.00 secured bond. John Curtis Jenkins Jr. was released on a $15,000.00 secured bond.
