Contact: Sheriff Ernie Coleman                         FOR RELEASE

Chief Deputy Charlie Rose                         June 8, 2018

On the evening of June 7, 2018 Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve John Curtis Jenkins Jr. with a warrant for arrest from Pitt County for Felony Stalking.  When Jenkins spotted approaching Deputies he ran on foot into nearby woods.  Attempts to locate him after the brief foot chase were unsuccessful and Deputies sought and were granted a warrant charging Jenkins with Resisting an Officer.

On June 8, 2018 at about 2:30 pm Jenkins turned himself in to the Beaufort County Magistrate’s Office and was given a $10,000.00 secured bond by the sitting Magistrate on the current resisting charge.

After a recent court motion filed by District Attorney Seth Edwards Office, prior to his surrender at the Magistrate’s Office,  Jenkins bond on all pending District Court Cases in Beaufort County was revoked and he was ordered held without bond until further orders from the court.
