Another great fundraiser is being planned by the Belhaven Yacht Club on Saturday,April 14, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the Belhaven Yacht Club Poker Run. It’s an event open to the public and the monies collected will be donated for building Blackbeard’s Sloop “The Adventure” .  The Boy Scouts are preparing the lunch so part of the event's proceeds will also assist the Boy Scouts send some boys to camp.   Registration begins 9:00 AM at River Forrest Manor in Belhaven, NC.

A Poker Run, for those unfamiliar with this type of event, is a card game of sorts. This event is being dubbed “ONE IF BY LAND,TWO IF BY SEA”, borrowed of course, from Longfellow’s famous “Paul Revere’s Ride”. That means that you may reach each location by means of a motor or sail boat, a motorcycle a truck, rod or car. Once the locations have been determined and a card received from each, the object, of course, is to “draw” the winning hand.

Sound like fun? You bet and there will be food, drawings and door prizes. Registration fee is $25.00 and that includes your lunch. You may print your registration form in advance by going to www.belhavenyachtclub.org.

The winning hand will receive a $250.00 cash prize. Many nice door prizes (over 35) from our sponsors will be given out to the lucky ticket holders. Goody Bags for first 100 participants.

The BYC continues to host community fund raising events on a regular basis and this one sounds like one everyone can participate in. At 1:30 prizes will be given away. Spread the word and we look forward to a fun time for all.
